ALAN LONG's GOALS
LONG RANGE VISIONJOBS, OPEN SPACE, and DEVELOPMENT can be done cooperatively. Individually each of these improves a certain aspect of our QUALITY of LIFE. Together, they create synergy that compliment each other. With a clear and concise vision, supported by a consistent interpretation of our development code, we CAN bring quality development to the City of Murrieta. HOSPITALS must continue to expand and PUBLIC SAFETY must be kept as a priority. QUALITY medical services cannot be compromised! As a past Public Safety Commisioner I helped create a top ranked public safety system. However, top level medical services should not stop at the hospital door steps. The Orange County Board of Supervisors appointed me to the Emergency Medical Services Quality Assurance Board. Our team helped several ailing Orange County Emergency Departments improve their level of care. From door step to hospital bed, I will work to improve our level of Medical care! CITY HALL must have a business and resident friendly environment. A CAN DO attitude shall be adopted and customer service shall be second to none! Our residents and business deserve the support of City Hall. Programs that draw businesses and aid in their sustainability need to be created. TAXPAYERS and PROPETY OWNERS need to be protected. Fiscal responsibility needs to be applied in all aspects of government. Every budget line item at City Hall needs to be scrutinized for efficiency and necessity. Private property rights must be protected. QUALITY of LIFE improvements such as: Connecting our Trails, Restoring a vibrant Historic Downtown, Shopping, and Recreational Activies for all ages are all within reason. Murrieta is maturing. A balanced approach to sustaining what we have while providing for the needs of the future must be considered. PROTECT OUR FUTURE! As Murrieta becomes the future of Southern California issues such as traffic, uncontrolled growth, lack of public safety, and over crowded schools have the potential to undermine Murrieta's future. Every project approved and policy created, must keep these issues in mind in order to keep Murrieta a desireable place to live, work, and play.
